FAQ

Q.  What metals are used in your jewelry?

A.  All of our items are made with 0.925 sterling silver and copper.  All silver and copper does oxidize over time and may darken.  We include 1 polishing pad with your purchase and you can shine up your item by just rubbing the pad over the silver or copper!

Q.  How do I care for my sterling silver jewelry?

A.  Try to keep your sterling silver jewelry in a cool, dry place and store in tarnish prevention cloths or zip lock bags.  The treated polishing cloth slows down the tarnishing process and keeps the jewelry from rubbing against harder jewelry in your jewelry box that might scratch it.  To clean your sterling silver, use a polishing cloth and rub the jewelry gently to remove the tarnish.

Q.  How do I care for my copper jewelry?

A. Over time your copper piece will darken to a rich brown color due to a reaction with the elements in the air. We find that if you wear your polished copper pieces often, they stay brighter (they seem to lose their shine in storage).  When you are not wearing your copper piece, store in a sealed bag and add anti-tarnish tabs to the bag to extend the time between cleanings. Your copper jewelry can be polished with the white polishing pad we send with each order, or a jewelry cloth that is intended for silver.  You can also use 0000 steel wool that you can purchase from a local hardware store.  This is super easy to use and cleans up the copper so nice!

Q.  What does 0.925 sterling silver mean?

A.  Sterling silver is an alloy containing 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper.  Fine silver (99.9% pure) is extremely soft and cannot be used for larger jewelry pieces.  We use 0.925 sterling silver pieces in all of our silver jewelry designs.

Q.  I have a nickel allergy...does copper contain any nickel?

A.  Copper is a pure metal which means it does not contain any other metals. Because of this, it’s a great choice for those with allergies to nickel.
